1-on-1 or small group: which reformer session is right for you?

Small group reformer class in progress at The Movement Studio

Choose 1-on-1 (MUR 1,400 per session) when you are starting out, working around an injury, pregnant or postnatal, or chasing a specific goal. Choose small group (MUR 800 per person, maximum five people) once you know the machine and want consistent, sociable weekly training.

What 1-on-1 gives you

A private session is entirely yours. Every spring setting, tempo and progression is chosen for your body on that day, and the instructor can spend as long as needed on one detail — a rib position, a foot placement, the way you breathe under load.

It is the right choice when precision matters more than anything else: a first session, a return from injury, pre and postnatal work, chronic back or neck issues, or a specific goal such as preparing for a sport or a surgery recovery plan.

1-on-1 sessions are MUR 1,400 per session.

What small group gives you

Our groups are capped at five people — five reformers, one instructor. That is small enough for the instructor to set your springs, correct your position and adjust an exercise for you, while you still get the rhythm and quiet motivation of training alongside others.

It is the more affordable way to train consistently, which for most people matters more than anything else: a class you attend every week beats a perfect session you book occasionally.

Group sessions are MUR 800 per person.

Side by side

A quick way to decide:

  • Never used a reformer — start 1-on-1.
  • Injury, pain, pregnancy or postnatal — 1-on-1, at least to begin.
  • Confident on the machine and want a weekly habit — small group.
  • Working to a specific deadline or sporting goal — 1-on-1, or a mix.
  • Budget is the deciding factor — small group, consistently.

The combination most clients settle on

A common pattern is two or three private sessions to learn the machine properly, then a weekly group class, with an occasional private session when something new comes up — a new niggle, a plateau, or a goal that needs specific work.

Both formats run 60 minutes, during studio hours of 8:00 to 19:30 on weekdays, and both appear on the same online schedule.
